garmin 4208

I just installed a garmin 4208 gps and I keep getting a lost remote gps connection message . can any one tell me how to correct this . the wiring is good i dont know the reason for this . thank you

a couple of possibilities come to mind
1 low battery voltage
2. Loose NMEA 2000 connection on the network wire
3. do you have anything else networked? and do you have the 120 ohm caps installed?
4. is the GPS antenna in clear view of the sky?

If your 4208 uses the fine wires to connect the antenna, clip and recrimp each of them, one at a time. Be sure there isn't something covering the antenna. In my case it was a helpful neighbor. Are you by any chance within 35 miles of Patuxent Naval Air Station? They are doing some weapons system testing that involves interruption of the GPS signals, as posted on the web.
