Default Holy Map confusion Batman

I just bought a new lowrance LMS-525c from BOE (great people) and it had a free card offer with it from Lowrance, I got the Fishing Hot SpotsŪ PRO East, started looking at what other maps are availible for my unit and I am a little lost about picking one out, theres so many to chose from, can anyone make a recomendation as to whats a good chip for Long Island Sound? I do mostly Striper/Bluefish/Blackfish and Porgies. Thanks.

Get the Navionics Gold Card for that area, it will give you the info you are looking for, if I remember you need it in a MMC format for Lowrance. See www.navionics.com

Why did you get a freshwater mapping product if you fish salt?

Dont really know why you think that, everything I read says its designed for saltwater use and down rigger tracking. http://www.lowrance.com/en/Products/...s/LMS-525C-DF/

No, not the unit. The unit is fine for what you fish. The FHSEP chart is a lake map product.

Oh sorry my mistake, I had a small selection of free maps to chose from with the purchase, and when I looked at the description of the one I picked out it says it covers Long Island Sound, (under the Connecticut section) but from what I was told it is a very generic base model map, looking for more detail like reefs, wrecks and such.
