What you see on my pictures is the max boxes allowed on the display. No you can not move the boxes around. A later update hopefully will let you do this as Depth is the one I want in the upper left hand corner.
Re: Is the Garmin 545 compatible with Garmin GFS 10 Fuel Sensor
I found out during my testing is that until you are running 2GPH or more the data is jumping up and down and is not reliable. The Range is dictated by the fuel sensor in the tank so it will not be very accurate as it is as accurate as your fuel level sensor. I bought this for one reason and that was to know what the best MPG at cruise would be. It has performed beyond my expectations and does what I wanted it to do with my 90 Etec. At 3000 RPM and just getting on plane I have accurate data. For under 150 bucks installed I am a happy camper. If you want more it will cost you.

how did you get the three black data areas on your srceen. i only have two. i just put the boat in today and I can figure out how to get the data to show on the chart mode, the only info shows when i select the srceen you show in your second picture and it only shows one thing the fuel amount

Sorry to dig this thread up but still have a question about the fuel left option. On Garmin site they have the quick reference card for the GFS 10 that says you can input fuel added and use the flow rate to calculate what is left, has anyone used that feature and can you then not hook up the fuel gauge. Any input would be helpful. Thanks.

Not quite sure I understand your entire quetsion but I'll take a stab at an answer. On the Garmin chartplotter, once the GFS 10 is installed you input your tank capacity, then when you top up the tank you reset the fuel monitor to indicate a 'full' tank. As you run the unit estimates how much fuel is left based on your operating speed/versus fuel gph. I am not sure what you mean by 'can you not hook up the fuel gauge'?

Thats what I was looking for. The reason I asked is earlier people were hooking their fuel gauge to the GFS10 and then the chartplotter would just mimick what your tank gauge said, which I thought was a terrible idea as my gauge is never accurate. Thanks for the response.
Hello, Ive read a lot of the posts about hooking these two togeather, I have a question I didnt find already asked.
Does anyone know if Garmins NMEA 2000 backbone cable has the same wires inside as the CANet wire kit? The NMEA 2000 wire has the same connectors as the GFS10 drop cable. Would it be possiable to use that cable and then terminate it at the helm with the CANet adapter then put the terminaters in a short section where it would be more protected inside the helm station? Any help or ideas would be appricated.
I recently hook up the GFS10 to my 545s. I set the gallon size of my tank. But i do not see anywhere the fuel information screen. how do you get to the screen?

From the home screen click on 'Information' then 'Fuel'.
I have a brand new GFS-10 that I want to sell. I purchased it and had it installed, before I left the shop were I had it done I was told that I could run a NMEA cable from my E-Tec to the unit to get the info. I had my mechanic take the GFS-10 out and I now read data from the motor. The unit was never run and I have the box and everything the unit comes with. I will take $100 for it.
