Default Battery switch question?

I am going to install a battery switch in my boat.
My question is do I install the switch and leave it down in the bilge area or do I mount in somewhere I can access it with out having to open the hatch(boat is a Sea Pro 210cc).
Are there pros and cons to both or is there a standard mounting place that most boats use.

Mine is in a hatch and I like it there. It serves as a safety/theft prevention feature. Plus no one should ever be tempted to say "hey what does this do?" and turn it while the motor is running (and fry the altenator).

Put it in an accessable hatch. Keep it dry and safely hidden is my .02

Default Battery switch question?

I'd do just the opposite, put it out where you can easily access it in case of an emergency, it can be easily turned off, that's the point of installing a switch in the first place.

Default Battery switch question?

I have a split console and put mine inside the passenger side. It's not readily visible but I can reach over and flick it without any trouble. Maybe you can find a similiar spot.

Default Battery switch question?

I have two switches, both in the open and easy access . . . both switches are lockable . . . keys are kept with ignition keys . . . keys are tied to a floater with an electrician's tie wrap and not a cheap little chain that falls apart and lets the keys fall in the water . . . damn I hate that and the water was cold
