Default Garmin 3210 operation question

I recently purchased a new 3210 bundle package. The operation is somewhat different than the 2010's. I have a few operation questions maybe a few of you could help with. I did read the manual but cant seem to figure a few things out.

First, when you go to the page to set up the "DATA" there are two "slide bars" on the side of each data field in the setup page. I have tried everything to slide the bar up and down. Nothing seems to work. Can someone explain?

Second, I have looked everywhere for the "pointer" option in the data fields. The arrow that tells you to turn left or right. This is helpful when my daughter, wife or friend has the wheel. Does the 3210 even have the pointer.

Like mentioned earlier, I have read the book but I must be missing something...

Are you talking about the highway page with the arrow for navigation like all of the older Garmin units? If so your unit may not have one, on my new Garmin 4212 there is no longer a highway page for navigation.....which at first seems odd, but the new features work just as well and are pretty easy to use once you get used to them.

What I believe you are describing is to set up your split screens, use your up/down left/right button then press enter then toggle down to add display items then hit enter, I dont know of a pointer but I would suggest you put the compass across the top then your daughter can spend all day chasing the elusive black line

Thanks for the help Guys! Bluewater your first video was what I was looking for. Thanks for the time it took to do that and post it.

The second question had to do with a "pointer" that could be used in the data field in the older units such as the 2010. When you would choose the data you wanted to display in a certain window "pointer" was one of the choices you could make. Just like you can pick SOG, COG, POSN, etc. I do see in your video you use the vessel it self to point in the right direction you want to go.

Bluewater you are the MAN! I learned more from that first video about my 3210 than I have the year that I have owned it.
I'm running the Garmin Bundle with a 3210 and a 3010. Can you please show me how to set up four windows on one of them?

Thanks Hammer .....

Watch the 1st video again. The Function items on the far left of the plotter screen is how you choose your multiple windows, Just check the boxes you want to display (4 max). If you have a radar/sonar connected to your systems then you can select those items. There you go.
