What kind or transducer and what GSD box? Sounds like improper transducer mounting....works at slow speeds but looses bottom underway.

Sounds like you're having problems with turbulence/ air bubbles passing over the tranducer. If it is possible on your boat you'll want to watch to see if your transducer is running an area where the water passes out from underneath the boat in a nice smooth stream. If it is an area where there is a lot of turbulence present, this will disrupt the transducer's ability to read at speed.

It occurred to me that you may also have it mounted too high. I have a back up transducer mounted on the boat and it is mounted so that no part of it extends below the bottom of the boat to prevent accidental strikes putting it out of commission. The back up reads well at slow speeds but not at high speeds.
