Default Can I transfer Garmin preloaded charts to handheld gps?

I own the following Garmin units: (1) GPSMAP 192C chartplotter with built in BlueCharts, (2) GSPMAP 182C which requires a chart data card which I don't have, and (3) handheld 60CSX unit. I purchased the 192C and the 60CSX new, the 182C came with a used boat I purchased.

Is it possible to download the chart from the 192C to my other units, or is there some kind of "unlock" code I have to purchase to do that? It seems to me that if I own the software in the 192C, then theoretically I could use it on my other units as well. I would like to run the 182C in my other boat, and use the handheld as a backup.

Any ideas out there? I don't want to purchase a copy of a chart I already own if there is a legitimate way to access the one on my 192C. Or is buying a new chart my only option?

Thank you!

You'll need to purchase the Bluechart CD you can't download preinstalled charts.

You, indeed, own the software that came with your unit. Garmin, however, owns the copyright and has chosen to keep it proprietary. You have it, you just can't do anything with it except in the 192.

If you want to feed the 182 and the 60CSX, buy the Bluechart CD, required cables, and down load to two units of your choice ...

Oh, well, I was hoping...

Thanks for all the input, though! I'll have to pick up a Bluechart.
