Random Quote: I see, I see, it all comes back to me now, said the blind man to the deaf fellow, as he pee'd into the wind!
I just ordered my 2008 Triumph 190 Bay with T- Top and electronics box and I'm looking for advice in the stereo department.
I know that I saw an electronics box somewhere that had speaker enclosures on the sides. Does anyone know where I could find this?
OR: who makes good speaker enclosures that will clamp on 1.9" OD tubing (T top tubing) ?
I was planning on running 4 speakers, 1 on each side of the console and two facing rearward off the t top. Any opinions or insight on this?
Also I was planning on going with the Sony CDX-HS70MW Head unit.... Opinions?
I am undecided on the speakers: I understand the JL's are the top spot, but I wont be running an amp. Because I wont be running an amp I don't feel l will use there expensive potential!
Some input on a quality sounding set of speakers for a decent price would be appreciated. Sony? Clarion? Infinity? JBL?
Also, is there any far superior VHF radio for a reasonable price? I wont use it often but would like a good one.
Lastly I decided to go with the Humminbird 797cSi Combo NVB (with side imaging) any thoughts on this unit?
If so, check out http://www.ssicustomplastics.com. Also, JL Audio has some nice rail mounted speaker enclosures, but I'm not sure what size tubing they can connect to.
As for the head unit, I'd stick with Clarion--I have an older model and like it, and am contemplating getting the new CMD5. Also, rethink your speakers-Generally, the more capable the speaker (in wattage), the better they will sound with low power amplifiers (or receivers). To be honest, any 15-20wx4 powered head unit alone(as most head units are) with no amp won' tsound that great with any speaker at high volumes.
Now that i got my hopes up on that overhead box, I find out that they don't have them in stock and the minimum order is 10. So all i've gotta do now is find 9 other people that need one!
SWFLNavigation - You say T-tops but I think those are for Wakeboard towers. I know when I looked into that previously the clamps were too large a diameter for most t-tops.

KDCane, those pod's better not be on any wakeboard towers cause we make these. JL makes these
I would use these and a pair of speakers
and call it a day and leave the e box off.
