Random Quote: Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.

Default I bought a garmin system today

I got a GPS MAP 5212 with the GMR-18, GSD-22, and an Airmar b-164 1kw transducer. The boxes should start showing up by Monday. I am very excited to see how it will perform once it is installed. I am replacing all of the original (and now intermittent) Furuno stuff that was installed when the boat was built in 1996.

I got all of the components from BOE marine. Jim was great. He answered all of my questions and made sure that I got everything that I needed.

Cheers,

Jeff

Nice choice! I have the same. Dont forget to think about getting a KVH Azimuth 1000 fluxgate compass to get your MARPA to work, it also makes the combined radar/chart overlays syncronize. XM is nice too.

I almost got the heading sensor. I want to get an auto pilot in the future and it will come with one so I decided against it for now. I removed all of the previous stuff today with the exception of the radome. I got a taste of how much fun it is going to be to put the new stuff in as well.

Thanks for the replies,

Jeff
