Default Chartplotter, fishfinder combo???

Do any mid-priced units ($400-$600) exist that are fairly easy to use with decent screens for viewing. Use will be 90% inter coastal and bays with 10% 1 mile offshore. Thanks in advance

You can get Eagle SeaCharter 640C DF or 642C DF iGPS for 599 at BOE.

5" screen, 640x640 resolution. 500W RMS dual frequency sounder.

The only differences between the models are external GPS antenna for 640 and internal for 642.

The equivalent Lowrance models LMS-525C DF and LMS-527C DF iGPS will cost you $646. The Lowrance units have lower resolution (480x480), but they have NMEA 2000 and radar possibillities.

I just got the Garmin 498 for about $450 off the internet. Several vendors have it for about the same price which includes the internal and tena and dual frequency transducer. It is a model being replaced and for the most part not available in the stores.

I also use a Garmin 498. Since it was last years model, the price has been reduced to about $500. This included the transducer as well as an external antenna. I got mine from BOE. The were great to deal with. Friendly on the phone, great price and I had it at my doorstep in a day. Expectations were exceeded. You may want to see if they have any more in stock.
