Default The best Book for interpreting fishfinders?

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a Book on interpreting fishfinders?

I have to links, but would like to have some recommendations from someone who has actually seen or read one of them, or for a book he likes.

Ditto

Or, take an experienced bottom fisherman out on your boat and they will teach you using your fish finder.

Try Pacific Edge Tackle in Huntington Beach, Ca. Mark Whisch is the owner and teaches a great fish finder seminar and has materials for it. He covers the topic very well, a local legend.

Thank you for all your good suggestions. Probably should just buy a scoop of bait with the money instead more books!

This same question was posted on the Striper forum: http://seastriper.com/ so it got my interest and I asked the question here, I am always looking to learn a little more. I have been looking at F/F screens since the screens replaced the roles of paper and also the rotating flashers. Some of you surly remember those.

Actually the Lorance 15A paper graph was an excellent machine and returned the tipecaly

I have been looking at F/F screens since the screens replaced the roles of paper and also the rotating flashers. Some of you surly remember those. Actually the Lorance 15A paper graph was an excellent machine and returned the typical arches for fish passing under the boat, I don't see those with my RM high definition as well.

I also attended Mark Wisch's seminar on the F/F It was great, and gave very good pointers especially on using the 50 and 200 HZ.

Also have used a Under Water Camera on a long cable to see what the F/F showed.

But there is still lots of interpretation and uncertainty going on.

So if someone has video of the F/F with a video from an underwater camera, i would be willing to spend a few dollars on that.

Just a thought. I work with Bruce Samson and he has a couple DVD's out. If you don't have a Lowrance the Understanding and Interpreting Sonar should be generic enough.

Here's a chart tutorial written by Luke Morris, Lowrance's International Tech Coordinator (He teaches tournament fishermen how to use their products).
Although illustrated on a Lowrance screen, the principles apply irregardless of what you're running. Its definitely a must read and great future reference material, will most certainly clear up a lot of common misconceptions regarding SONAR. Illustrated in color, real-time , 22 pages, Adobe format.

JayDee,
Great tutorial, thanks for sharing it. I just read it and viewed the screen shots. If you think you know all about your F/F, read this short tutorial with the pictures and you may find you didn't know as much as you thought you knew. This is truly worth spending the time reading very carefully and paying attention to the details.

Warren,
"Understanding Sonar Video" from Bruce Samson using underwater video and Sonar recordings promises to be a great resource and an interesting learning experience.
I will order it and I'm looking forward to watching it.
Thank you. just what I was looking for.
