Furuno software upgrades

Are Furuno upgrades, say to the NAVNET products, a fairly regular thing? What triggered this thought was the recent upgrade to the XM weather module. I have the Sirius module for the Furuno and it seems upgrades should be coming for that unit as well.

as far as i know furuno only offers a sirius weather module, not Xm. The unit comes with the update card right in the box. it has complete instructions on how to perform the update on each of your navnets.

I'm not talking about the initial installation. I'm thinking about from time to time, as improvements might be available, how good is Furuno at upgrading their units to a new higher level of performance? In other words, an active support function, like Microsoft or some of the other software companies.

No, Navnets are not updated frequently, they pretty much work right the first time. All additional effort is normally directed at the next generation of equipment.
