Default Fluxgate compass for Radar

I got a new radar and I need to buy a Fluxgate compass for the bearing heading. Which one would be the best. KVH 1000 electronic compass that you can read or a KVH 1000 heading compass that is mounted in a closed area?

Thanks in advance,

You can read mine but you will have to crawl into the console to do so. They are less money than the heading sensor.

Be sure to keep it as far away as possible from your VHF. It creates static. I learned that the hard way as well.

I have the AutoComp (non-display)

Never been able to figure out why the Azimuth (display model) is less expensive
