Default Raymarine c80 question

I have a c80 and I want to know when in chart plotter mode I need the land to have labels on it ie. plum island, shelter island etc. My land isn't labeled and I can't find anything in the paperwork on this. Can it be done?

Do you have a Navonics chip installed in the unit?

From page 4-39 of the manual press MENU andgo to CARTOGRAPHY SETUP. From here make sure you have the following settings selected:

CHART DISPLAY is set to DETAILED

CHART TEXT is set to ON

LAND FEATURES is set to ON

Good luck and I hope this takes care of it!

A stupid question, but, have you zoomed in on it. On mine you have to zoom in tight to see the names.

Make sure you update your software version to the C80 also. This will "unlock" alot of information from the Navionics chip which was not previously displayed. Try the settings adjustments as JimZ explained.

Regarding the software do a search here regarding the latest update version. 4.25 has a few gliches with waypoints, etc. I'm running 3.18 and have no issues with the labels.
