 Time to pick out a GPS/FF
Hello; I'm in the market for a GPS/FF for my new Dusky scheduled for completion in..... probably two months. I've elected not to have them quote or install any electronics other than the gauges for the motor. My boat is the 203A with the split upper console. I have asked for the 3" tach to be mounted on the right upper area which leaves me plenty of space to mount my GPS/FF and mic for VHF. I live in Maryland and fish the Chesapeake bay primarily and would like to know your thoughts on a combo GPS/FF. My initial thought was the 440s but the 4" screen turned me off, especially if the device was going to have double duty and be my FF. After reading some "pirate" guys posts- something about ECU - I just say Go VT. anyway, I was very impressed with the 545. However, I'm not married to anything. I want a gps/ff that will be a good fit for the Chesapeake. Not looking to over engineer, just a good product that gets the job done.
