Default Garmin 4208 and Suzuki NMEA 2000 Interface

I am currently running a Lowrance 522c igps and have the NMEA 2000 network with the red plugs. I also have an EP-20 (I Think that's what it is) with the blue plug. I am converting from blue to red.

Garmin advertises the 4208 as NMEA 2000 capable. Will the EP-20 work with it? I am seriously considering getting one, but I don't want to lose all of my fuel data.

The Garmin unit can read the EP-20 but can't configure it. You will need a Lowrance 4" gauge called a LMF-400 to configure the nmea2000 network. Garmins advertising is a little misleading as the unit does not fully communicate via nmea2000, all it does is read some things that are on a nmea2000 network. I honestly don't think they know any better, at least not the marketing people.

Jim,
What information could I view? I supposed the nice fuel management features would not be available?
