Default Tab Indicator switch with auto tab retract complete!!

Took today to do installation of a new Led Trim Indicator Switch for my trim tabs.Installation after a survey of exactly what had to be done took about two hours. The old tab switches seem like a square wheel compare to the new tab switch. The new Tab switch has led lights for both switches that show the attitude for both port and starboard trim tabs. The second feature that I really like is the auto retract feature. The trim switch is connected to a panel on/off switch and when you turn the switch off the trim tabs retract to full retract position.
Both features really make knowing the attitude of your tabs a breeze!!! !!!
I beleive both Lenco and Bennett make these trim tab switches!

I assume this was the Lenco indicator. If so, does this fit in the same footprint as the standard Lenco gauge?

Thanks,
Killeen

Default Tab Indicator switch with auto tab retract complete!!

I can tell you from my personal experience I can well see that having the indicators and the auto retract is priceless compared to without. I have found myself worrying if I am fully up and am I putting too much stress on my Hydraulic pumps by assuring myself they are up by holding the switch down a bit longer so I don't ride the boat up on the trailer with a trim tab slightly down..

I would say that it was well worth the price and effort to install plus the piece of mind that comes with it..It won't be long before I it as well.

Nice post offshore3144...

Hydraulics will give, electrics will snap. The auto retract should be a standard issue.

Killeen it was a Lenco switch .It fits exactly to the old switch footprint, but there is a little more wiring then the old trim switch.I made note of both Lenco and Bennett so not to be bias. They both have there place in different applications and they both offer trim indicator switches!!

Yes Bennett does make Indicators and Auto Tab Retractors as well. They are ordered separately so you can get an Auto Tab Retractor as a stand alone if you wish. The Bennett Auto Tab Retractor is fully automatic so you do not have to remember to push a button to bring them up.

Pier Pressure,
You cannot damage the system no matter how long you hold the switch in either direction, so not to worry, but having Auto Tab Retraction is on a trailered or dry stored boat is really nice to have. Your Cape Horn may have Boat Leveler Tabs and our Auto Tab Retractor will work with them as well, but not our indicators.

Offshore,
Great post, thanks for being unbiased! Here are the kits needed to provide indication and retracting to the Bennett Tabs

The Part Number for the stand alone Auto Tab Retractor is AR512 List Price $77.00 and for the standard Trimdicator Kit is Part # IP1010A with a list price $289.00. Of course check with dealers for the “street price”.

I hope this helps,

Tom

What wiring? The manual looks like unplug old switch, plug in new switch and you are done...

I have The Troll N Tabs and had a direct feed to the rams.I had to wire in the new control box and wire it to the on off switch. There was no plug or control box except for the TNT box. I beleive my old trim switch was a older version it had wire end connecters but there was no problem with wiring them.
