Default FURUNO GP30 and GP31

I was at a boat discount shop today and saw leftover Furuno GPS 30 and 31 in the box for $100.00 Anyone have experience with these units?

They worked. The 30 is an 8 channel receiver, the 31 a 12 channel receiver and the 32 is a 12 channel with WAAS.

On a boat any difference in accuracy between the 30 & 31 would probably be not detectable.

Cheers, Kerry.

I never get lost, everybody tells me where to go!

I have the model 30 on my boat, it was already on there when I bought it and lucky for me the guy that owned the boat used it in the same saltwater areas as I do.
I was a little unsure of it so I bought a video at W Marine to learn the basics of it. I also carry a Garmin Map76 handheld as back up.
So far it works great and for a 100 bucks i think it is worth it. If you can get the model with WAAS I would.

Like TPrice above, the boat I bought last year came with a GP30. I transfered all my wayponts and routes in manually and it has performed well.
I cannot get it to give the miles traveled though, I think the 31 will. The 30 may, I would sure like to figure it out. I need to get better fuel consumption estimates..(MPG)

It's at West Marine on Cypress St in Tampa Florida. They had three there today.
