I recently purchased an A65 mainly because of the digital Fishfinder. I have had and very muched liked Garmin GPS. They are very good units that I find rather inuitive. If you're only looking for a GPS, I would definately go with the 545.

If you want a combo with a very good FF capability, then go with the A65.

Regards,
Dave

Just purchased the 545s (fishfinder edition) over the A65. Though the A65 has a bigger screen, i didnt think the price difference justified a little bit bigger screen. Also, the vision charts are pretty sweet. I did spend a long time looking at both and just felt the Garmin 545s offered a bit more and easier to use. The interfaces on the Garmin are just so easy to use.

I just replaced a 498 with a A65. I find the screen much easier to read, Screen navigation is great and even when in split screen I can Read both with no problem. I have the Gold nav card in my A65. I looked at the 545 in the store and thought that it looked good but when in split screen mode was very difficult to see any detail. I also had numerout problems with my Garmin and transducer, Garmin Cust service was great however.
