Re: Battery for Raytheon v850 That lithium battery is mentioned in the owner's manual but the part # is not listed and the battery is not shown on the schematic. Best bet is probably calling Raymarine or a dealer and see if they will still supply that part. I'm pretty sure it is soldered into the main board. You could open up the case & see if the battery shows the specs on the side and just hunt around the local Radio Shack for something similar, even if you have to jury rig a holder & leads.
The battery is not necessary for F/F use, and personally I never use the now very patheticly outdated chartplotter function anymore so my unit's battery has not been changed in the last 8yrs at least. The V850 was circa 1994-5 or so. Still a good (backup) F/F in complete shade or dark of night, completely worthless in sun. Let us know if you have any luck. |
