Default Electronics questions

I’m looking at new electronics and the Furuno NavNet vx2 1724C and 1724C/NT have caught my eye. Because of space limitations I need a compact do it all unit.

My questions are
o What’s the diferance between the 1724C and the 1724C/NT?
o What all do I need to build a complete all in one Radar, Chart plotter, fish finder? Sounder box, transducer, GPS antenna, all cables etc.
o I presently have a 582L with a 600 wt, speed, temp transducer. Will this transducer work with the 1724C
o What is this “Radar Overlay available with appropriate heading sensor (ie. PG500R)” and is it something extra that I need to buy?

Thanks in advance
Al

C vs C/NT model differences are the same except the C model limits you to C Map chips while the other model will allow you to use NT chips. The two different brands have different looking bottom charts, pic your favorite for your cruising area.

The radar overlay allows you to overlay radar spotted images over the GPS maps. Most find that the radar is fine by itself or in a split screen next to the GPS map, but if you want the well defined buoy locations and shore line details, on the radar image you should consider the overlay. You must ad the expensive $800 heading sensor to accurately overlay the chart with the radar image.

If you decide to add a Furuno Navpilot 511 system the heading sensor comes with the autopilot, but that's more like $2500.00 more with the pump.
