Default Furuno navnet temp readings

I just bought a used boat and am going through and learning how to use the electronics . and I cant get the temp to display. The boat is a 2004, 23T Contender with a 10 inch navnet main unit conected to a through hull ducer. I have gone through the set up pages and turned them on, o I cant get a depth readout either, and still nothing. I have tried to find a part number on the ducer to make shure it gives temp readings but am not shure I found it, the numbers I did find where on the side of the cable and I have sent them to the manufacturer hopeing they can help. Then today I was messing around with it and did a sounder systems check , it ran through all this stuff and one of the items it checked was temprature. It said it was 61.9 deg. So any way I am stumped I go back to the sounder page and still nothing just --.-- deg.same for depth in the data boxs. Any help would be great.

did you set the depth and temp settings to display from the "ETR" ? you need to be in the installation mode or in the install wizard if you have a vx2 navnet, to change those settings. which sounder do you have, the bbff1 or bbff3?

It is a GP1900C not the vx2. and I will get the sounder info today. The only thing I could find was a calibration setting. but that seemed more like to change the data if it was reading to high or low.

turn off the unit

then while holding in the menu button, tap the power button. the unit will enter install mode, and you will be able to access the installation menu. this will open up more settings to adjust.

The sounder model number is ETR-6/10n. Thanks Duct Tape I will go and try that.

all right I held the menu button while turning on the system and in the first screen where it shows you the modle number and all that stuff, across the fish it says"starting installation menu" then it goes to the regular menu. What am I missing?

allright it works. I now have a depth and temp read out. Now, in all this I saw a setting for "position input source" and one for "Furuno GPS Sensor". What is the "Furuno BBWGPS"? The GPS works on the plotter I have allready been out and used it. I dont want to fix it if it, if it aint broke. But it seams like the system was never set up and I want to cover my bases.

bbgps is the furuno gp320 antenna, if you have the furuno antenna plugged into data 1, then it should be set for bbgps. if the navnet is getting its gps info from another gps unit, then you would set it for GP.

there are 3 gps antennas on top of the boat. 2 furuno 1 garmen. I assume the 2 furuno antennas are for the main unit and backup gps. the garmen is for a hand held unit mounted on the console, that I dont have, the mount is just there. So if the navnet is not set to "YES" on the "furuno gps sensor" how is it getting a signal?

one navnet. one GP37 that I guess is there for back up? I have spent verry little time on the GP37, I assume it works properly because there is less to set up.
