Default furuno navnet2

Is there any reason that you could not network 2 7" screens and 1 10" screen together? I want to use a 6kw radar and that only comes with a 10" screen. I can put this in the tower and the 7" stuff at the lower helm. Would you still get the radar info on the 7" screens?

The radar cable would get plugged into the 10 inch display and the rest of the displays will be able to access and control the radar, sounder, etc. navnets are a beautiful thing

the only annoying thing, would be having to go up the tower to turn the radar navnet on for the radar to work on the other navnets.

Thanks for your help. I think I could live with going to the tower I always start there to get out of the canal. Have you heard of any problems with the navnet stuff? Like the dsm300 thread where voltage drops are a problem?

I would put 1 10" display at the lower helm rather than 2 7" displays. If you split the screen on the 10" display each screen is about the same size as the 7" display so you effectively have a choice of using it as 2 7" displays or 1 10" display. The only advantage that I can see you gain by having 2 7" displays over 1 10" display is a little more redundancy.

ive been installing navnets for about 4 years now, and of all the brands that ive dealt with, furuno is by far the most reliable.

edk, I do not have enough space to put the 10" in the lower helm. The 10" is to tall for that space. I would like to do a black box setup but all of the monitors I've seen are to large for the space I have. I wish furuno would make monitors like the ray e80 or norhtstar 6100.

I love navnet, but if you don't have room for a 10" display, then get something else. The 7" displays are next to worthless. I had a 7" in my tower and ripped it out and added a 10". Please go by somewhere that might have a 7" and a 10" display on demo (boater's world, etc) and look CLOSELY at what you can get on these screens. Think about what info you would want and see if you can get it on the 7", or even two 7" screens. In this case one 10" is worth more than any number of 7s.

Duct Tape,

Have you ever installed the video input option on a 10"navnet2? I would like to have multiple video inputs, but cannot find any marine type video switches. Do you know of any?

Usually we have more than one navnet on the dash and a video switch isnt required. But when we have multiple cameras we use the Ikegami 4 channel camera switcher. http://www.techcctv.com/quad19.htm Usually we mount it under the helm or down in the salon. We have used this model for a couple years with no corrision issues that i have heard of.

If we just need an A/B switch, then we use the TecNec Patchadaps BB-AVAB

Duct Tape,
Does Furuno have a product that accepts XM weather information? If not, what is the best system out there that does?

Thanks
