Default NAVMAN 4380

I currently have a Navman 4380 fishfinder/fuel computer. I want to install a new fishfinder and keep the fuel computer running can I just plug in the fuel transducer to the back of the unit and not the transom mount ducer. Fishfinder is terrible but fuel computer is excellent. Anyone with info on this set up I would appreciate it.
