Lowrance LMF-200 accuracy - The Hull Truth

I recently ordered and installed a Lowrance LMF-200 gauge with EP-10 fuel sensor. On the first trip of the boat, the gauge read total fuel use of 15.51 gallons. Back at the fuel pump, the fuel tank only took in 12.2 gallons. Is this difference of roughly 20% normal before the first calibration?
Have any of you guys had a similar experience or has any info on the accuracy of these units? they are supposed to be good.
I did the calibration anyway, but have to wait till my next trip to verify the result of the procedure. I´m hoping some of the knowledgeable folks on this forum may shed some light on this subject.........

Mine was off by about that much before I calibrated it. With mine I need to turn it off while I'm at anchor so it doesn't sometime register a fuel flow. This is an inconvenience but I was told it was because of a breather tube that is on 4 stroke engines.

I did the calibration and have to wait before I can do another test.
Any other experiences with this gauges out there?
