Digital Antenna

Tell me what there is to gain by installing a digital antenna? If it is worth the money to at all! I may be offshore 25 miles on a good day! Thanks and Merry Christmas to all!

The Search function work's and this has been covered plenty. I buy Black Digital 529's.

Digital is a manufacturer, not a reference to the type of antenna (as in digital vs. analog). They do, however, make very good antennas.

A quality antenna like a Digital or Shakespeare Galaxy is crucial for top-notch performance

As an experiment, I put on both a "Digital" and top of the line "Shakespeare"--I checked the SWR of both. The Digital appears to perfrom slightly better than the Shakespeare. Definately the more expensive antennas are worth the cost. They have better construction and will last longer (if you don't break them). (But you can build a very good VHF antenna if you so wished--just would not look as nice).
