Default How do you remove your antennas for the winter??

I have two Digital 8' antennas on my t-top. There is enough wire in the electronic box, so I can take the antennas off for the winter and lay them on top of the t-top. Which is under the boat cover. I just feed the wire threw the drilled holes, enough to lay the antennas flat. Is there a better way to go about winter storage.

Just wondering if I should have a disconnect, instead of pulling the wire threw. Are the antennas ok outside under the cover for the winter?

I lay the antennas down between two 2 x 4's to protect them from the cover.

I've got 2-8' antennas on my hardtop and I just cut two holes in the cover for them. I then lay them down and put a peice of 1 1/2" PVC tube over the top to protect.

I'd say either of the two ideas above are good. Since I have a roomy "A" frame built off of the cap of the boat I just disconnect the antenna at the knuckle and lay mine down. I don't have to protect my antenna from my cover.

I take the bolt out of the base and lay them flat if I can. I don't like putting a bow in them for 5 months...
