Default user friendly gps

I want to buy an easy to use GPS. I have family members that will be using it that are not too familiar with GPS. I know I want a color unit. It will be used on a 22' CC. Internal or external antenna?

Garmin. If the boat has a canvas T-top the Internal antenna will still work fine.

The question really is how big of a screen do you want and what's your budget?

User-friendly for GPS chartplotter only? Northstar 952 XW or XDW , (external antenna only. )

Garmin, either a 492 or 2206 if you just want a chartplotter (although both have the option of adding a sounder module later), or a 3205/3206 if you want the option of adding things like XM weather or radar later. The 492 comes with either an internal or external antenna, while the others are all external models. If you are yoke mounting on a center console with just a t-top, the internal antenna should be fine.
