Hi -
I have a 4 person (1998) rescue pod in hardcase valise that was last inspected on 2007. I was wondering on a ball park figure for re-inspection and how often they have to be inspected. I would also like to know how much it would cost to re-pack in a fabric valise ...

No idea on the costs, but I think Switlik's are 'supposed' to be inspected every year. . . Now, whether most people do or not - you can make that determination. I find that most "inspections" from factory authorized dealers run about $300 to $500 assuming not much has to be done.

The average cost is between $350 and $400 for a Switlik Pod in the canister, a little less in the valise and it is an annual certification. The Pod and IBA's require less labor to pack and repack so I don't want to cause confusion with the Pods repack charge against all life raft charges. Thank you for the post. Brian Kinsella
