I am looking for a 6 to 8 man off shore raft. Considering a viking or winslow. Any suggestions on which you would recommend and why.

Default Life Rafts

I apologize, I've been on a Boat Show circuit so I missed a few posts. Joe Ludwig i just went through my entire mailbox and did not see an e-mail from you, can you please re-send and I'll reply immediately. Tmoutinho, I like the ACR Rapid Ditch Express for small packs and the Revere Survivor Ditch bag for large packs. I'll e-mail you some pricing and recommended ditch bag items. C.O. Jones, I do have a Pre-owned SOLAS A canister with cradle for a good price. You can e-mail me at briank@lrse.com or call 401-816-5400. Thank you all, Brian Kinsella

What do you think about the new Viking RescYou Coastal 6 man raft? The boat show prices seem great at like 1600 bucks for a double tube raft with a full auto inflating canopy. Plus it only weighs 55 pounds for the valise model? Am I missing something?

Brian, I am looking for a life raft and an EPIRB. I fish mostly 60 to 70 miles off in NJ and will be making a couple of runs to the canyons this year. What would you recommend for me to carry on my 26' Southport? I fish with 4 to 5 guys. Thanks, Kenny

Viking was great when I recently purchased this one from them for my 23-T Contender. I spent a few hours in their Miami facility and picked exactly what supplies I wanted packed into the raft and watched them pack it. Inside the canister it's vacuum sealed in a heavy plastic bag and only needs to be serviced every 3 years. My other larger Viking Raft is now 15 yrs old and they said it should have at least another 5 yrs of life. That one has been kept in their bag under a long bench seat on the bridge of my other boat all its life.

Default Life Raft

When space and weight is a concern, I would look at a the Winslow Ultra-Light offshore or the Revere Elite Offshore. If you send me an e-mail to briank@lrse.com I will send out some quotes with spec sheets. Thank you, Brian Kinsella

Default Choosing a life raft

If you need help trying to decide which life raft is best for your vessel, please allow me to offer suggestions on which would be most appropriate for you to have. There are many ways to get in touch with me, here on HT, phone (401)816-5400 or for formal quotations e-mail is best at briank@lrse.com.

Thank you, Brian Kinsella
