BTW, the use of an extension belt usually voids USCG approval (and excludes the device from the count), BUT from the Coast Guard's own site I learned that the Approval is still valid if the wearer can demonstrate that the required maximum 52" does not fit him.

Now, that DOES say "universal" (whatever that is) and that probably shoots a hole in my argument, but it's a talking point should there be a boarding.
