| | Bluetooth: What does it mean for you?
Today, many marine electronics are equipped with Bluetooth technology. Following this feature you often see the abbreviations A2DP and AVRCP, but what does all this mean for you? We are here to help break down this terminology so you know exactly what you can do with Bluetooth. As an example, we will use the JENSEN Marine MS2013BTR which features Bluetooth technology with A2DP/AVRCP.
First, letís break down A2DP, which literally means Advanced Audio Distribution Profile. Since the MS2013BTR is equipped with this type of Bluetooth, you can stream high quality audio from one device to another over a Bluetooth connection. If you have a smartphone, you can send your favorite tunes to the MS2013BTR and jam to them while out on the water!
Now, here is what AVRCP means for you. Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) works in conjunction with A2DP. As you are streaming your music to the stereo, the AVRCP allows you to control it. For example, if you send music from your smartphone to the MS2013BTR but want to momentarily pause the song, with the AVRCP you can do this right from the radio Ė no more fumbling for your phone, which can be left in the safety of a storage compartment.
Now that you know all about Bluetooth technology, why not upgrade your audio system with the features that can truly enhance your music listening experience.
