Default Transom work - Robalo in Hammond - Need help!

Hey THTers! I am still looking for a decently priced fiberglass guy in/around LA/AL/MS (somewhere!) to work on my 1973 Robalo and help me restore a rotten transom. After speaking with Sammy Joe (MrRobalo), going to make it easy and just go back with deck all the way to transom and go with a kneed transom getting rid of the storage boxes, splashwell area and "fishbox" --- Looks great with the original teak covers and all, but I think it would make the job cheaper and open up more room for the rear of the boat. Long story short, too late, is that I have been looking for months, I was hoping that the post-Labor season would open up more opportunity for glass work. Currently boat in Hammond, LA --- not in a rush but have $$ in hand (after all it has been since March I have been waiting) Transom is clean and clear --- all electronics, motor everything removed already and will be reinstalled from boat shop. Just need the transom, glass, gelcoat, etc done.

Please let me know if you have any info. Thanks guys --- keep the wet side down.

Try Pelican Floats in Reserve, La by the St Jon Parish airport.

Andy, call Deer's Fiberglass. It is located in Denham Springs, LA. No more than a 30 minute drive from Hammond down I-12. The owner is Bubba Deer, but with hunting season closing in you may not get him. Someone there can/will help you. He has been in business for ~15- 20 years fixing glass boats. His number is 225-664-9400.

Try Reno boats in Manchac. I think they do repairs too.

Update: Thanks for the recommendations. It is really hard to get someone to do this work with all of the Katrina warranty work, but I finally got it done in Ponchatoula off Sisters Rd. It was a good job, but I need to do a little finish and polish work on her to really get her to shine up. Boat now back to get repowered and such so that will take a couple more weeks.
My trailer is rather long (glide-on/float-on type) so it seems like this beast can launch almost anywhere, but any recommendations about launching a 24' CC in/around Hammond, Metairie or Slidell areas for checkout runs and just getting the feel of it?

Thanks for all of the help!
