Default POC trip last weekend

My bride and I met up with Kinggetter and Welder to have our own THT get together at POC. We got to POC on Friday and Welder was already offshore bringing in the big ones. Or so he said! We got to meet Kinggetter and his crew and give his boat a onceover. Very nice, lots of storage. Never did see Welder on Friday.

Met up with the other Texas THT'ers Sat AM at 7 and headed offshore. We had limited success at one of the wrecks and then kinda split up until later in the day. A few snapper and chicken dolphin in the boat, along with a lot of sharks. Don't know if Kinggetter and Welder found the sharks like we did, but they were everywhere-bonnetheads, blacktip and bulls. The group got back together at one of the closer in rigs and then called it a day.

It had been a long day on the water and Kinggetter and Welder had to get their boats on trailers and get cleaned up. We never did get to sit down and visit. Maybe next time.

Kinggetter talked about planning a "formal" THT trip to POC later in the year. Renting the town pavilion, catered food, band, fishing guides, etc. This guy really plans BIG! Well, maybe I was exagerating on the pavillion, the food, the band and the guides, but he is still planning a get together............................

It was nice to meet a couple of the guys that I have been swapping e-mails with and talking on the phone with for the last few months. Where else can you meet great people and have fun fishing?

Regards,

Barry

Barry,
My bad we didn't get hooked up with ya Friday, we were on the water 14 hrs and my crew was burnt out.
We did catch fish, nothing to brag about but still a nice catch, kings, snapper, short cobia back at the 604 and a butt load of sharks.
I have a picture or two of your Donzi running through the pass at about 30 mph , when I get them loaded I'll post 'em. That donzi is one sweet ride and your bride makes it even better looking.

Kinggetter did nail a nice phin out at the wreck we started on and one of my crew hooked one but it threw the hook.

We will be back down and do a get together, king is already talking about it before summer is over.

Thats right Barry,
I already have Hurricane junction reserved. They said we would need our own generator and skeeter repellant!
I did get to sit down with welder and his gang at the Spot for dinner. Heck of a nice guy, hope his boat doesn't corrode away before we can do it again.lol
We didn't get into too many sharks, mabee ten all day. Not sure what kind, they were gray and had teeth.
What about Farmerjane, does she really exist? I never saw her. Really Jane, how was the fishin for yall?
Later, Kirk
Hey, did either of you guys get any pics of my transom while underway?hehehehe.
