 Destin, 5 days, Groupers, Snappers etc
I towed the Fountain from Houston to Destin on Monday 6-26-06. Tuesday, I got the boat set up at Legendary Marine by about noon. I was by myself, but I had to go. I got some squid and cigar minnows and cleared the Jetty at about 3pm. I ran out short to some bottom and managed a limit of Grouper (1 Red, 4 Gags) and a limit of 16 inch snappers.
Wednesday, two of us ran out and fished wrecks. We ended up with Beeliners, 1 Gag, AJ, and a few Scamps, and a couple of Snapper.
Thursday, we did an afternoon trip and put a 6 year old on his 1st Red Snapper and 1st Grouper.
Friday we ran way out to some deep bottom 300-450 feet. We caught Snowys, Beeliners, an Almaco Jack, and some Scamps. We ran back inshore and picked up a nice Sow Snapper.
Saturday we did a quick morning trip and caught a few Snappers and Beeliners, Then right before we were gonna head in, Steve made one more drop that produced a nice Gag Grouper.
