Hi! My name is Dan, and I’m with the Gulf Restoration Network. How’s everybody doing?

Some crazy stuff is happening here. While many Gulf residents are busy rebuilding their homes and lives, Shell Oil corporation keeps working to implement plans for an open-loop LNG facility off the Louisiana coast. The open-loop design will kill billions of fish eggs, larva, and zooplankton, having a horrible impact on important fisheries and the whole Gulf ecosystem.
Fortunately, there are easy, fish-friendly alternatives that exist (LNG is good as long as it’s done right). Oil companies are using the good systems elsewhere in the country, but not here in the Gulf for some reason. Recreational fishermen and the fishing industry obviously stand to lose the most from this assault. With all that has already happened in the last few months, the last thing we need is further degradation of resources!
Right now is a critical moment in this fight. There are proposals for LNG terminals all over the Gulf. Making Shell change to fish-friendly technology will put serious pressure on all the other companies to do the right thing!

I’m also setting up presentations this month to groups throughout the Gulf. We can meet and go into more detail on the issue and easy steps you can take to protect Gulf fisheries. If you’re interested contact me at
