Howdy,
If you are in the Fl panhandle, go to Howell Tackle or Half-Hitch Tackle and get a Hilton's Offshore Chart "La Delta to Destin".
All the best,
Tom Hilton

What Tom said. His charts are the best. Don't be suprised if you can't find the rig when you get there though thanks to the sluts called Katrina and Rita.
Boomer,
Thanks - we're working on updating the charts with all of the missing rigs, new rigs, etc. which will come out early spring 2006.
All the best,
Tom

The Minerals Management Service has some information that you can download that gives you locations of all the rigs in the gulf. You can use that to make your own map. I don't know how up-to-date their list is as far as the rigs missing after the storms.
Thanks. I have asked Half Hitch in PC and they told me they did not carry the map I was looking for. Guess with a name and type I just might get better results. Maybe HH in Port St Joe or Howell in Mexico Beach will carry it. I fish out of St Joe anyway.
you gotta have a hiltons. it is the most comprehensive and is laid out in a manner that can take you from block to block, page by page. if you cant find one, PM me and i will pick one up at outcast in pensacola and ship it to you.
Howdy,
Chris does a fine job with his site - just FYI, the Deepwater Nautilus is a floater and moves around every few weeks...so don't spend the fuel and time looking for it as it is not at that location any longer.
In addition, I believe Mica was a subsea installation in 4,350 feet of water, and is tied back to the Pompano platform 29 miles northwest of the development. Mica's combination of tieback length and water depth sets a world record for deepwater subsea oil and gas production back in 2001. So don't go looking for that either - it's 4,300 feet down to get to it.
Of interest is that there is a floater (Deepwater Horizon) drilling next to the Horn Mountain Spar giving you that much more structure to fish if you plan heading over there.
All the best,
Tom Hilton

Paul,
Mike Lane runs a great site, but is not known to keep up with the floaters' locations on a timely basis. If you go there right now, the last time the "Floaters and Submersibles" has been updated was August 12th - over 4 months ago. The majority of the rigs have moved since then - important to know in these days of high gas prices, as it is a considerable investment to venture out to reach these deepwater structures.
All the best,
Tom Hilton

Tom and crew, give Mike Lane and www.rodnreel.com a chance to get up and running all the way. They do up date the floater page weekly, but due to Katrina, life has been very hard for all of us in south Louisiana!
Prockvoan,
I'm with ya. My prayers are with everybody in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama trying to get back up on their feet from such a monster.
Merry Christmas,
Tom

Half Hitch had them at Destin. I now have them also. They look great. I will be waiting for the updated version later this year. I will also check the other sites listed as I beleive you can never have too much info when going that far. I have some buddies going out 1-11- and see what they can find and I hope get some fresh sushi.
