Default Ship or horn

Want to take my 5 year old to catch some white trout. Any ideas where to catch some tomorrow. I haven't fished like that since I was kid...I only bluewater now and am outta touch. She has been begging so I gonna take her tomorrow. If it does not rain. Thanks in advance..

If you're after white trout, I would probably try around FH8 or FH9/11. Center points for these reefs are- FH8 30 16.003N 88 57.715W and
FH9/11 30 15.612N 88 54.000W. Both of these are a mile or two north of Ship Island. I have also heard good reports in the past coming from Keesler reef just south of Deer Island and the White House reef just off of the beach.
Take it as just a suggestion since I haven't fished these places in years. I'm kind of like you in that I mostly rig fish and very rarely fish "inshore" anymore. However, I did end up fishing Cat Island yesterday(Friday) and caught 7 or 8 nice specks.
Good luck

Just about any reef with oyster shells will produce white trout. The Mississippi Gulf Fishing Banks website has some coordinates posted of several.

Thanks to the both of you...With the rain in the area I took to in laws pond. She caught to Bass on her "Tweety Bird Pole" on beetle spins. Of course she lost one in the tree... Just got thru frying her catch. She said it tasted like the yellowfin her mother caught a couple of weeks ago. She also said she needed some vitamins because her back was hurting from catching her fish..Funny how kids think and what they pick up on..

Thanks again

The ones you have to be careful of are the ones who stow it away and act oblivious when your talking, only to spring it on company when you least expect it.

Keep taking her fishing, its better that she learns about life from you, than from other kids her own age
