Default Redfishing and Trout action is red hot here in S La

Guys, Just wanted to pass on that the Redfish and Trout action has been red hot lately. The Hurricanes and other storms blew a ton of new fish into the lakes and bays down here in Houma Louisiana. Bayou Dularge area. We been fishing Lost Lake, Lake Mechant, Calliou Lake etc.. and it has been awesome!!!Plastic under a cork and tight lining also works great. No live bait needed.

Almost two months later and the fishing is still hot in the Dularge area. Same areas that were mentioned above. Fish are being caught on "speckulizers" and Purple/Chartruese (LSU) Bayou Chub Minnows. They will be moving into the deeper canals and Bayous soon, as the weather cools. Beats the heck out of the piss poor duck hunting!!! We had a great trip the weekend before Thanksgiving. Two Boats- 20 Reds and 60-70 Trout.

Delacroix and Pointe a la Hache are really hot on the eastern side of the river. Live bait was the key but now they take plastics equally well. I'm gonna try to put a few in the box this weekend.

Looks like Saturday will be pretty good. They should be concentrating a little more into deeper bayous. Glad the fish are biting because the ducks sure aren't flying!!!

Guys,

We fished Dularge on Saturday. On the third cast of the day, My dad caught a Monster Red, on 15# test on a Shimano Curado, fishing with an LSU Bayou Chub Minnow. He was hanging out on an oyster reef in about 2 feet of water near the mouth of Bayou Dunorde. We didn't have a scale, but the fish was well over 40", and was VERY thick. We estimate that it weighed around 30#'s. Totals for the day were 44 specks and 11 reds.

I tried to attach the pics but can't figure it out. Can you do that in this thread or no? If anyone wants to see it, I can email it to you. This was the fattest Redfish I have ever seen based on its legnth. We have a shot with it on top of an ice chest and it hangs off both sides and at it's widest part it is as wide as the ice chest. Big Fish!!!
