Right, I drove 550 miles to look at property in Grand Isle (flooded) and fish a couple of days on my boat in Venice. When I left Arkansas on Friday, they were calling for 2-3's both Sunday and Monday. We did venture out Monday in some six foot swell for a few snappers and a nice grouper. If I was correct no more often than the weather forecasters, I would be fired the first day. I do realize it is not an exact science. I pretty much go when I can, when you drive as far as I do, you can't wait until the last minute. I have also fished several times when the prediction was for 4 - 6's and it ended up being 2 - 4's or less. I have fished, out of Venice, 32 days since the first of the year. Five days were 2 - 3's, or less. Most days are 2 - 4's or 3 - 5's. You can always catch redfish at the mouth of the river - beats working. |
