Default Mobile and Baldwin County Get Together??

Anyone interested in having a get together and maybe put some faces with some names??? Could be a GREAT excuse to take a break from some of the hurricane clean up....

If interested just chime in and offer suggestions you might have for when and where...

8 is enough, good luck with getting your boat. what kind are you looking at?
you and rogueangler both registered on the same day. pretty cool.

somebody throw out a suggestion. boat get together or meet up at a restaurant.
lulu's and tacky jack's back in business yet? anybody tried the bluegill on the causeway lately?
I'm not too familiar with places on the eastern shore.

How about the Original Oyster House on the causeway? I know they are back open. Just need a date and time. Anytime but during a Bama game is good for me ....

I can do, let me know. I do agree with Modunlavy, let's not have it during a game. That's a little strange that 8 and I joined on the same day!

How about this. The 3rd Thursday of every month starting at 7pm, there is a Saltwater Sportsman's Association meeting at the Mobile County Law Enforcement Associations clubhouse on Riviere du Chien road across from the Linksman Golf course.

There is always a key note speaker and everyone tells of their latest fishing trips. You do not have to be a member to attend the meeting and can all come as my guests. You might be interested in joining after checking it out.* (A whole $45 a year gets you and your wife and kids signed up).

The MCLEA clubhouse has a cash bar for beer and soft drinks.

There is plenty of time before, during breaks and after the meeting to meet, greet and do the BS thing. I usually try to get there around 6:30 to BS with folks ahead of time.

Directions:

From Mobile (north): South on Highway 90 to Azalea Road. Left on Azalea. Approx one mile, Azalea deadheads into Hall's Mill Road. Right on HMR, go one mile to Riviere du Chien - look for Linksman Golf Course sign on left and Mobile Fence on right.
Turn left on RDC.

Coming from 1-10, take exit 17a - 193 toward Tillman's Corner. Take first right immediately after exiting (Hall's Mill Road) where Lowes is. Go about 4 miles, Mobile Fence on left, Riviere du Chien and Linksman sign on right. Turn right on RDC.

Continue down RDC, over the I-10 overpass, over the rail road tracks, and just past the golf course. There will be a white shell drive way on the right. The entrance to the drive way has concrete walls with lights and there is a sign out by the raos that reads MCLEA. Follow the road to the clubhouse and come on in.

I'm easy to spot. As far as I know, I'm the only guy with a ponytail.

That sounds good too. I could probably learn a few things there. If you see a scooter pull up it will probably be me. I think I'm gonna have to get me a bigger scooter to pull my boat with though

I may try and stop by there this coming thursday night. But they have bike night on the same nights at the what-a-burger on gov't blvd up towards town and I promised my brother I would meet him there.

I like the idea though. will try and make it on the next one if not this one. thanks.

Weekdays would work for me better than weekends. Can't do the Saltwater Sportsman meeting, other obligations that evening until spring. Mondays and Tuesdays are fine.

Sorry guys, I missed last Thurs. Please keep posting about future get togethers, I would like to meet you fellas. BTW, went snapper fishing Tuesday and did quite well. They are still very hungry even with the full moon. Went south of the West End to some rigs in 65ft and caught 2 man limit of snapper, some triggers, and a couple of short grouper. Would liked to have gone a little deeper but we were in a 19' bayboat and we had caught fish there a couple of weeks ago.

I was there a couple of weeks ago also and there was several bay boats out there. at a rig in 65'.
one was a blue colored hull, don't remember what brand. there was two more there also.
I was anchored up kinda on the east side of the rig. in a 21' seachaser. fishing was good.
I fished monday out of billy goat hole, went out about 20 miles. got snapper grouper and kings.
I usually run out of bayou la batre when fishing that area.
