Default Winterizing `round NOLA

Hey Guys,
Coming from Michigan, and a vintage boat upbringing here, so bear with me.

1. Is it necessary to drain engines and drives here for the cooler months. I was here last winter, but had a hard time thinking it was really cold.

2. Assuming I won't be using the 19' trailer boat (5.8L I/O, Volvo drive with Multiport Injection) for a few months, should I at least fog the motor. How do you fog a MPI motor? In the "old days," we just poured fogging oil down the carb till she was blowing smoke :-)

no reason to stop using the boat during winter unless you really want to...
mine gets used all year round for fishing and during duck season

otherwise, if it's just going to sit in your driveway for three months, you should at least fog it

Like the other guys said, I don't think that the 3 weeks of winter we get will warrant any real winterizing process.

Unless the temperture is predicted to drop into the 20's I usually don't do anything special other than run it every 3 or 4 weeks. If it is predicted to drop ito the 20's I drain the block and manifolds. A lot of winters we don't reach 32 degrees south of Lake Ponchatrain.
