I am getting close to buying my new boat and I am trying to figure out where to dock it. Freeport/Galveston area,*I called Brazoria CoC and all they had was Bridge Harbor.*Nothing against*them but I am wondering what other choices I have. Someone told me of a place where they shelf store your boat and you call in advance and they will have it in the water with bait and gas ready to go for you. Talk about being pampered! So anyway I am wodering what other choices I have.
One consideration is that I have a beach house on the beach at Sea Isle (W.Galveston) I don't want to keep the boat there because I do not want to have to go 20 miles around the island to get to the gulf.* I have heard Freeport is where I want to be anyway and it is a short drive from Galveston. But the further East in Freeport the better for me as I will be coming from Galveston most of the time.*
1 fork lift. brand new. in excellent condition. 2 mechanics on premises and live down the street. your other choice is bridge harbor where i had my boat in a sling. in one year the sling broke 3 times. nothing like getting to the water and your boat won't come out of the sling. you could always dry store or tow but on good days you can wait an hour at bridge bait to get your boat in the water.
i don't work for int. coast. marine services just love them.
i can call at 3 a.m. and my boat will be in the water when i get there. they will put gas in it if i want. tanks stored out of the water about 30 yards away. fuel is cheaper than any other marina (the bridge harbor guys fill up there.) lots of bait and ice. they will even start your boat and put it in the water. if you are tired they will spend 1/2 hour to an hour scrubbing and washing and polishing and flushing your boat. cost $25. they spray down inside and out and flush engines for free.
I just put my boat down there at Intercoastal too. Looks like a nice operation. Hey Agulhas, what do they charge to ice the boat? Is there a seperate fee or just the ice cost?

hey cat o "lies" you have the distorted story. it just so happens that 3 THT boats went out on sunday. boat #1 (that's me) decided to go fish a rip 6 miles out (125 degrees) around some anchored ships. only other boat around was a guide. when we go to the rip there were fish busting bait on the surface like there was no tomorrow. saw some tarpon and i do believe a sail or two. blacktips were launching and dolphin were rolling. and that is were we stayed. gave up on catching kings (caught about 10 in under an hour including a splattering of spannish mackies.) hooked into a blacktip on 30 lb line on the accurate reel and 6 foot med action a.j. rod. took the newbie an hour to get him to the boat. at one point there was only 150 yards of line on the reel. we chased him down and round and round the boat. he broke the surface once and then took off again draining about 150 more yards of line. buddy was a lot more tired than the water cooled shark. he was about 6 1/2 feet and about 150 lbs at best guess. i cut the line cause we are lazy fisherman. we ate some peanut buttered bread and hung out.
so you ask what happened to the 22 foot triton and the 23 sea pro. well they sabikied up some bait and then tested out their gps. yeah they ran all around the gulf. they could have been in mexico for all that running. but they had some luck. i thing the sea pro caught an amber and the triton a snap.
you know when we split up i saw a beautiful rainbow touching the water. well cat did you find it? did ya find that pot of gold? it sure looked like you guys were chasing it.
How bigs your boat - Could keep at West Bay Marine and go out San Louis Pass. I had bay house at Sea Isle and did it quite often - sold big boat running the shallows now. Just another idea.
Back to the original request for information, since you have already found Intercoastal, the only thing I will state about that operation is that if an hurricane is on its way, they require you to come pick up your boat. Most of us would do that anyway... the point is you still need to keep and store a trailer. I think they will store your trailer for an additional charge. The other place is Kirby Marine. Kirby Marine is more like Bridge Harbor in that it is not dry storage. Kirby Marine also will store your trailer for an additional charge. I'm can not recommend any of the three places as I am not storing there.
