Default Hold on!

Got these pictures via email yesterday. This is what the email said

"37' 2010 Contender

Check out this Contender that "ran aground". Boat was only 6 hours old.
Operator claimed he was doing 28 knots. Both people on board were 100%
sober. Cost him $10,000 to have Tow Boat US pull him back to the water.
4 tow lines parted in the process. MSRP on the boat ranges from $300,000 to
$400,000 depending on options."

He almost made it to the other side and back in the water.

... Guess it was a little further than he thought.

WTH? Was this done during daylight?! Must have been distracted by the setting up the new plotter and radar?

The guys on the boat must have loved getting their pictures taken.

They are lucky they didn't hit anything solid. Looks like the 3 yamaha's kept on going right through the grass.

It had to be dark, there is no way anyone is stupid enough to do that in day light. As said already 28kts no way. In the pics it looks like they jumped the first 10 or 20 yards. I'm suprised they didn't run aground before they hit the beach. I bet there is more to this story, maybe they were on auto pilot and not paying attention. I'm glad nobody got hurt, where did this happen?

That suuuuuxxxxx!! My guess is that he did that on a very high tide judging by the fact that there is quite a bit of debris washed up/ pushed up along the canes. Looks like he probably had a foot or two of water until he hit the "high" part of the island which stopped the boat. Therefore, he may have been going 28knts because there aint no way that boat would go that far on dry land unless it was going 120knts....
just my opinion....

I was on a boat one time that did something kinda similar. The driver (a major ahole) decided to take a shortcut across a bay. Problem was, there was only about 12 inches of water. He didn't know the area, I did. I screamed no, we can't go this way but it was too late.
We were running WOT and hit a sand bar. It was a miracle no one got hurt. I was much younger and healed much quicker than now.
Never fished with him again. Never.

Wonder if the COE will fine him for "impacting" wetlands.
