Default Fresh water bull reds..??!!

Alright, Ive caught bull reds right off Orange Beach and Dauphin Island many times,.. but when trout fishing in the fresh water rivers (Fish River, Al.), I always see them tailing, popping and feeding all around me, but no matter what I throw at them, i CANT get them to bite. Although I do go to the rivers to catch trout, I feel like im playin putt-putt on the drivin range.

Any suggestions????

throw um a live finger mullet on a 1/0 kahle hook with a splitshot. be carefull not to hit them in the head and spook them. if they won't bite that they are not redfish.

I dont know what size fish your seeing, but a DOA shrimp is tops around here. It's nice and quiet and somewhat weedless.Works good for 15lbrs and under.

Red fish can't pass up a mullet ditto on the live finger mullet.
If live bait is an issue try a gulp shrip on a 1/4 jig head and cast it ahead of the redfish and let it sink in the mud and just wait. Most reds will hit the 4" gulp!

Yeah theyre definitely reds, bout 20# plus. I can see their spots when they tail. I catch probably 1 small red for every 20 speckled trout, but thats it.
