Default Inshore & Nearshore Venice

I want to fish inshore/nearshore Venice the day after Thanksgiving. What are my options? We'll be fishing from a 24-foot bay boat, so we can't go way out.

River too high for the spillways?

How are the "close in" rigs like the ones in east bay, out of Baptiste Collete, Main Pass? What might be find at South and Soutwest Pass? West Delta?

We would like to catch trout and reds and mangrove snapper if possible? Are the cobia gone for winter?

Thanks

LA Sportsman ran an article last month on Venice inshore in November. Some of their spots are obvious, but it's a start:

Fish the flats at Yellow Cotton Bay with live shrimp about 4.5 feet under a cork. All the 11.5 to 13 inch trout you can stand... A red may be in the mix if you are lucky.

Thanks.

How is the water in the SW Pass Spillways? Too dirty for specks?

Which passes are easy to navigate and have good places to fish for reds under 27"?

Spillways are going to be too dirty for sure. I haven't been down in three weeks so not sure where the fish are. Think you will find most of the passes dirty as well, but you can always try the rocks at SW or south pass.

I was down last weekend. The river is very muddy with lots of debris. I would stay out of the river if possible. If you want Reds, maybe try the empire rock jetty. You can also fish some of the oyster reefs and banks west of YCB. But, the west side likely has the only good water right now. YCB for specks! Some friends went down river to the Dead Woman's Pass area and fished the canes. They did pick up some reds, but it was not as fast and furious as you read on RNR reports. I think they fished for 3-4hours and between two guys they had 8 reds.
