Well the boat is totaled. The insurance company has been great so far. Sent a check right away to fix my truck. Just waiting for a bill of sale to sign to get paid for it. Very stand up people. Very happy with how they handled it. They paid for truck, trailer and boat. All I asked for.
I found a newer Kencraft 215 (my dream boat) for sale (in the for sale section here) and decided to check it out. Sr and I left Louis Armstrong at 6am Saturday morning for Norfolk, Virginia. We then hopped in a rental car and drove to Ahoskie, North Carolina. The boat is in just freakin awsome shape. It's a 2002 with 188 hours on it. The previous owner took really really good care of it. Shines like new. After a ride in the boat I was sold. Handed over a check and inked the deal! Not sure how I'm transporting home it yet since Sr and I flew back today, but I need to get it back to Louisiana in one piece!

Yeah wouldn't you know the seller got a flat leaving his house to meet us at the launch. Filled it up twice to make it home. No biggie. It's got a hole from a nail or something. Josh is getting that fixed this week for me. IF I go get it I'll bring a couple extra tires, genny, compresser, impact wrench, etc.
Heck no! BUT unfortunatley my truck is not fixed yet (dang body shops in Houma are backed up 4-6 weeks!). Also I don't have any vacation time left to take and I think it will be a 3-4 day trip taking my time.
oh yea ...do yourself a favor and put it on "u ship it"....They will bid on bringing it to you.....probally 200-300 bucks........espeacilally cheap if they are hauling back empty allready...they would be glad just to get a shipment to cover their fuel back!......and they are INSURED
I just used a guy called Captain Cove from Uship.com. He brought my boat from new york to louisiana. I think the total was 1200 dollars for a 28ft LOA on his tri axle trailer
