Default Gulf Winter Fishing

I am new to offshore fishing and was wondering how Gulf fishing was in the winter say off the coast of Destin. I have just bought a new boat and want to get out there asap...

I'm in mobile. Fall/winter fishing in the gulf is excellent. We fished out of Perdido last week about 10 miles on perdido bridge rubble and slaughtered the snapper. Most were red snapper and tossed back, but we caught some really nice 3-4lb lane which made great snapper sammiches. The only downfall to fall/winter fishing in the gulf is the fact that its usually rough as balls. If you need someone to go with you and show you around, hit me up.

Chum/chunking for blackfins near the edge has really gotten popular the past few years until the end of the year (when the water gets too cold).

But keep a weather eye tuned at all times.
Winter storms can push the wind up quickly.
Even then, IF you have to go into the water you could be dead in a few hours

Just something to keep you thinking...

Rough, wet and cold!
Go south, try the Keys.
