Notwithstanding the fact that Rob jinxed this shi*t out of us, it was curving toward Florida when I went to bed... now the last projected path has straitened out toward Louisiana (i.e. Rob's house.)

look at the 7 pm model runs. I have long said that it seems the mouth of the MS River has a bulls eye on it. In any given year, if the storms don't make it to the MS River, then they just messed up and missed.
I hope that is not correct this time.

I wouldn't worry too much about IDA. I manage a floater offshore and we are not haulting operations, we don't expect this storm to have much more force than any other winter storm.

The 5 pm announcement will call for it to become a Cat 1 hurricane within the next 12 hrs.
Course continues N at 8.
But they still say it will be absorbed and die out shortly thereafter.
Looking at the numbers, my guess is a hurricane watch for the Gulf Coast coming out soon.
Maybe from SE LA over to MS-AL line.
Should be getting 30+ kt winds on the shore in the next 36 hrs.
Ida should turn east after a couple of days and start dying off.
Hold onto your hats guys! It's already rough in the gulf and it's gonna get worse from the forecast.
EngEdge how do you like your seaswirl? I looked at the exact boat at the boat show in Atlanta last year and I was impressed.
