Geez guys . . .

two words = WIND SHEER

ain't no way I'm worried about that one (I probably just jinxed everybody, sorry).

P.S. if you feel you need to evacuate there could be a keg party at my house - I'm a single bachelor haha! Grill is ready too.

Notwithstanding the fact that Rob jinxed this shi*t out of us, it was curving toward Florida when I went to bed... now the last projected path has straitened out toward Louisiana (i.e. Rob's house.)

look at the 7 pm model runs. I have long said that it seems the mouth of the MS River has a bulls eye on it. In any given year, if the storms don't make it to the MS River, then they just messed up and missed.

I hope that is not correct this time.

The 10:00 version moved it further toward our brothers in Florida.

Ha. The latest graph has it doing a U turn in the gulf. Haven't seen that move before.

I don't believe this is going to be any kind of strong storm. But it could help bring some warm water in the gulf. Might help the fishing.

I wouldn't worry too much about IDA. I manage a floater offshore and we are not haulting operations, we don't expect this storm to have much more force than any other winter storm.

You manage one of the floaters we fish around?

NHC calls for it to be absorbed by another system in the next 48 hrs and pucker out.
The twin highs will keep it at bay until then.

The 5 pm announcement will call for it to become a Cat 1 hurricane within the next 12 hrs.
Course continues N at 8.
But they still say it will be absorbed and die out shortly thereafter.

Figures, my buddies and I have a four day fishing trip planned for Venice late next week.

Looks like I need a backup plan - location..

Looking at the numbers, my guess is a hurricane watch for the Gulf Coast coming out soon.
Maybe from SE LA over to MS-AL line.
Should be getting 30+ kt winds on the shore in the next 36 hrs.
Ida should turn east after a couple of days and start dying off.

Hold onto your hats guys! It's already rough in the gulf and it's gonna get worse from the forecast.
EngEdge how do you like your seaswirl? I looked at the exact boat at the boat show in Atlanta last year and I was impressed.

Yep, sure enough, a watch for the US gulf.
Hmmm, I wonder how much wind/rain central west and east FL will get when it rolls across to the ocean....
