Default Federally Permitted Charter Boats STEALING YOUR Snapper

The Save our Sector Plan, also known as S.O.S has moved from wanting more than half of the recrealtional quota for Red Snapper, to wanting their own quota's for ALL REEF FISH!

This was bad enough when they wanted to steal private boat owners red snapper for themselves, but now they want amberjack, mingo snapper, grouper and will not stop at that.

Right now there is a good chance red snapper season for the private boat owners will be 35 days or less next year. How are YOU going to feel when the big charter boats come back to the dock year round with YOUR snapper because the federal gov't allows them too?

SOS supporters argue that the sector seperation needs to occur so they can better manage their sector. What has better management got to do with seperate sectors and them stealing our fish.

Please understand that this only affects federal permit holding charter boats and there is a small minority of these permitted boats supporting this plan. HOWEVER, they are loud and getting things done with the federal govt, so this small group of people are fixing to screw all recreational anglers.

I just read up on this I think it is great but I charter fish. I no every one is going to bash me for saying I like the idea but I think it will help they need some real time reports of the fishery becuse if they really knew how many snapper where out there they have whould never shorten the season there is snapper every where they where never endanger this year has been a record low for the charter busyness with the shorten season and shity economy not that many people are bookn trips if the counsel dosn't do something they will be a lot of people out of busyness the and n turn less tourist spending money at the local stores it will just keep going down

the plan is not great, the SOS plan is so flawed its rediculous. Its almost like a 12 year old sat down and thought it out. The only good thing being talked about is some type of monitoring. The currect Federal data is bad, so we need something more accurate.

If you think that SOS plan is good for all charter boats, you better go back and read it again. Remember what happen to the commercial guys years ago? One man holds over half the commercial quota today, ONE MAN. You dont think that will happen with the Charter Quota?
